Use the same xxxx type your vehicle currently uses. If you are replacing missing screws, follow the steps below to identify the correct size and head style.
Step-by-step
1) Check what you already have
Remove one existing plate xxxx and look at it closely.
Note the head style: Phillips, Torx, or Hex.
Note whether it is a machine xxxx (fine threads for metal inserts) or a self-tapping xxxx (coarse threads for plastic or bare metal).
2) Identify the size
Most vehicles use one of these:
Metric: M6 x 1.0 thread, length 12–20 mm
SAE: 1/4"-14 self-tapping, length 1/2"–3/4"
If unsure, take the xxxx to any auto parts or hardware store and match it on the sizing board.
3) Choose the right material and finish
304 stainless steel is recommended to resist rust.
Black stainless or black zinc screws match black frames better.
Use nylon washers to protect the frame finish.
4) Confirm length with your setup
Standard plates plus our frame usually fit 12–20 mm (metric) or 1/2"–3/4" (SAE).
If you use a plate bracket or spacer, choose a slightly longer xxxx .
Avoid screws that are too long to prevent bumper or trunk interference.
5) Install correctly
Align plate and frame to the vehicle bracket.
Start all screws by hand to avoid cross-threading.
Tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.
Use all 4 screws for the most secure fit.
Press on the decorative xxxx caps until they click.
