The metal frame itself does not typically scratch the paint, as it is designed to sit over the license plate area. However, if there is movement or debris trapped between the frame and the vehicle, minor contact marks could occur over time.
For added protection, you can place small adhesive foam or felt pads on the back side of the frame or license plate. This creates a soft buffer and prevents any direct contact with the vehicle’s surface.
