Vietnam Veteran with 3 Service Ribbons typically signifies that the veteran was awarded three distinct military ribbons related to their service during the Vietnam War. These ribbons represent different aspects of their service, such as time in combat, commendations, and participation in specific campaigns.

National Defense Service Medal (NDSM) – Given to all U.S. service members who served during a designated wartime period, including the Vietnam War. Its ribbon is red with yellow edges and a blue and white center.

Vietnam Service Medal (VSM) – Awarded to U.S. military personnel who served in Vietnam between 1965 and 1973. It features a yellow background with red stripes, symbolizing South Vietnam.

Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal – Issued by the South Vietnamese government to those who served at least six months in-country or participated in certain operations. It has a green and white ribbon with a gold star.
